Plaza Art Fair: Every September the plaza basically shuts down for a weekend. During this time, artists from around the country come to town and set up tents showcasing their work. Paintings, sculptures, sketches can all be found. There are also multiple stages set up for live music during the event. In addition, the majority of plaza restaurants set up booths as part of the event and have small bites and drink specials to enjoy while walking around and enjoying the art.
Third Thursdays: Held at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art every third Thursday of each month. Music, food, drinks, and art. It all adds up to a great evening at the museum!
First Fridays: Every first Friday (obviously). Down in the crossroads. Art galleries will open up during the evening and you can walk from spot to spot and just enjoy looking at the art. Some spots will have bites and drinks to sip on as well. The food trucks will all congregate thus providing many food options to help satisfy a wide audience.
