Speakeasies

Manifesto - This one has been around awhile. Cocktails range 10-15ish, awesome ambiance. Must text before, its in the back of the reiger hotel behind the restaurant if you get lost. Their number 816-536-1325 . Just ask for availability, hard to accommodate more than 4 at a time. Beware of the Manifesto punch, definitely call an Uber if you brave it

Swordfish Toms: Super small spot not too far from Up-Down. It is cash only, although they do have an ATM in the place. You can find this place down a side alley off 19th terrace which only adds to the fun of this place. This would be my pick of the speakeasies in town.

TikiCat: Fun lil tiki-bar in the basement of HopCat at Westport that makes you feel like you’re not in KC and off on an island. Available to book on OpenTable, but note that they make you put a credit card when reserving but it’s only so you don’t back out a few minutes before. Super fun place! I recommend sitting at the bar if you can when they make drinks.

The drinks here are awesome. They are definitely stiff, but they absolutely crush the Tiki theme, and not with just the classics like Mai Thais, either. A lot of thought went into the menu.
