Waldo, Plaza

Waldo

KC Bier Co.: One of the many breweries in town. Apparently it’s also a Bayern Munchen fan bar!

The Well: Like we mentioned for happy hour, its a great bar with a rooftop in Waldo. Much more of a traditional well cocktail and beer spot than anything more upscale, but they do what they do well.

Plaza

Monarch:They don’t really do food (go next door to Jax for that, especially on Mondays), their cocktail menu updates seasonally and they absolutely nail everything they do. If there’s nothing that fancies you, can always play a dealers choice with the bar staff. Must tries include the stingray, the Louisiana purchase, and if they ever have it, the Apollo (up there for best negroni i have ever had).

Made in KC Marketplace: This is a local store that sells everything created here in KC- from local artists that normally wouldn’t be able to afford a spot on the plaza. Plus, they now sell liquor, wine, and beer at the back which is also made here! They also run happy hour specials!

The Fontaine: The bar at the top of this hotel was always a go to for me and friends during med school.

The Levee: Live music, multiple levels with different vibes on each, what isn't to like. The only downside is its a bit away from much anything else, but don't let that be a reason to skip out on this hidden gem.
