Bluestem: This is my favorite restaurant in town. From the staff to the food to the drinks it's all incredible. They have two sides to the place, the more formal dining room as well as the lounge side. I frequent the lounge given its laid back atmosphere. Food found there includes a rotating burger, hanger steak, some of the best shrimp and grits around, among many other options that change on season. The BLT is incredible and is the single reason I'm starting to like tomatoes. The drinks are always incredible as well. The dining room side is a tasting menu with optional wine pairings. You can do 3, 5, or 7 courses on that side and it has never disappointed in the past. They also do special events and teas throughout the year that are definitely worth looking into!
Port Fonda: Great new mexican food and drink. The Daily chimi is always my go to, but they updated the menu somewhat recently I believe and haven’t tried most of it at this point. The margaritas and Palomas are among the best iterations in town of the drinks..
Moti Mahal- While it is not the BEST Indian food in the city in my opinion, it will satisfy my craving and is much closer than my favorite place (Ruchi’s in Overland Park is my fav currently).
Potpie: As the name implies, they do have potpie (and it is THAT good). But its a small cozy spot run by a friendly staff. The brie tart appetizer is a must try. You HAVE to save room for the bread pudding. I still don’t think I’ve ever had better.
Agreed! Cozy comfort food establishment, agree with all food listed above.
Mesob: Ethiopian food. The only place I can think of in town that does it. Highly recommend it since this is a cuisine that isn’t readily available!
